Description
This is a very quick and easy to sew dollies’ diaper pattern that is perfect for using up leftover fabric. Pair it with the Dollies’ Diaper Bag pattern to give your dollies’ the perfect place to store their diapers and accessories.

- +Preparation
- ⅜ inch wide Elastic – you will need 2x 4-inch long pieces
- Velcro (also called Hook & Loop tape) – approximately 4 inches / 10 cm will be sufficient
- Thread to match
- Front and Back – Fabric cut 2 on fold

Please read the full instructions before getting started.
Wash, dry, and press your fabric before starting your project. A bit of prep now prevents shrinking and means your garment will stay the same size you made it.
Never leave a child or baby unattended or allow to sleep in a garment made from one of our patterns with ties, snaps, buttons, or anything they could remove, choke on, or get caught on. Always use caution if you are unsure. We love our patterns, but we love your bundles of joy more!

Materials and ToolsYou will need a woven or non-stretch fabric. Cotton, quilting cotton, denim, or cotton lawn would work.

Tools needed are a sewing machine (or you could do it by hand), needle, scissors and pins.
Printing Your PatternSettings
The pattern is a separate download. Choose either the US letter paper, A4 paper, or A0 paper size based on the printer you wish to use. If you are in the US or Canada then your printer will likely use US letter paper. Other regions normally use A4 paper. Some people prefer to print their patterns at a print shop: A0 is best in this case.
Print at 100%.
On the second page, you will find a 1-inch and a 3-inch square test box. Print this page first, on its own, and measure these squares.
Once you are happy that the test box is accurate, print the rest of the pattern pages.

Diaper 2 Cutting InstructionsCut each of the pieces according to the directions on the pattern piece. Seam allowances are all included so just cut them as is.
Cutting Charts – All pattern pieces are included, however if you prefer to cut using a cutting chart, the dimensions for the rectangular pieces (in INCHES) are below:

NOTE – To cut fabric on the fold, fold your fabric over parallel to the selvage edges. Align the pattern piece so it is on the fold of the fabric. Cut around the edges, leaving the fold. If you have folded your fabric correctly the fold will be parallel to the two edges of the fabric that are finished. The raw edges (e.g. the ones you could pick at and threads would come off) will be at a right angle to your fold.

Preparation –
1. PATTERN MARKINGS – Transfer all pattern markings.
Sewing –
1. FRONT AND BACK – Stitch the Front and Back right sides together, leaving a 1 inch gap along the top edge.
2. ELASTIC – Place elastic at the pattern markings. Stitch. Repeat to attach the second piece of elastic to the opposite side.
3. FINISHING – Turn right side and press. Topstitch around outer edges, stitching a larger seam allowance around the elastic. Stitch Velcro in place.0 . PreparationSeam Allowance

0.1Pattern Markings
Transfer all pattern markings to the fabric using a fabric ink pen or tailors chalk.
1 . Front and Back1.1Place the Front and Back right sides together. Pin.
1.2Stitch using a ¼ inch seam allowance, leaving a 1 inch gap along the top edge.
2 . Elastic2.1Take a piece of elastic and place each end at the pattern markings. Pin.
Stitch the elastic in place, pulling the elastic taut, matching edges.
Repeat to attach the second piece of elastic to the opposite side.
3 . Finishing3.1Turn the diaper right side out through the gap left in step 1.2. Press.
3.2Topstitch around the outer edges, closing the gap at the top, using a ⅛ inch seam allowance, except where the elastic is.
3.3Topstitch on the inside edge of the elastic on either side, using a ½ inch seam allowance, stretching the elastic taut as you sew. This will encase the elastic.
3.4Place the Velcro onto the pattern markings. Pin.
Edge stitch each piece.
ALTERNATIVE: You can use snaps instead of Velcro. Place these at the center of the Velcro markings. Check the top placements when the diaper is closed and add the snap there.
NOTE – Using Velcro makes it easier for little ones to open and close the diaper.
